Do you work with children? Run a children’s sport or drama club? Do you have children? Do you think children are great and full of potential? If so, get involved with the first Children’s Week, 17th – 23rd July!
This July the Isle of Man will host the first Children’s Week. 54 countries around the world hold similar events, but so far not in the UK or the Isle of Man. The Children’s Centre thought this should change!
Children’s Week presents a great way for everyone to get involved in an Island wide initiative that will have a huge impact on local children, young people and their families! Olympic Snowboarder Zoe Gillings says “It’s a great opportunity for the Manx community to promote and celebrate children and young people.”
Working with the Department of Education and Children and Youth Services, Children’s Week hopes to involve as many children, young people and adults as possible!
Eddie Teare MHK, Minister for Education and Children says “Our future really lies in our young people who will take over the reins from us in due course. We owe it to them (and ourselves) to nurture and encourage them. In this we can all play a part, not only to help them, but also to ensure that they develop into confident and secure adults. Children’s Week will give us all an opportunity to take part and I hope that you will all participate.”
