The Children's Centre needs You . . . .to give your opinions on play!
As a child did you love climbing trees, building dens, playing in the street, going on adventures or day long bike rides with friends.... all without a supervising adult in sight?
Do today’s children play out as much as you did? Do computer games and television distract children from the opportunity to play out? Are the roads too busy or does the fear of stranger danger limit children’s outdoor play?
Here’s your chance to tell us what you think!
Our Playwork Department is attempting one of the most ambitious pieces of research of its kind and attempting to gain the facts and figures about just what is like for children to play out there on the Island and what if anything prevents children from playing out. Below you’ll find 3 links to our surveys:
Children’s survey aged 5-14 years old https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/playiom
Parents/Guardians with children aged 4-17 https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/iomparent
All other adults https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/adultiom
If you would like more information on this piece of research please contact Chris Gregory by email or by calling 676076.
