The Children’s Centre are proud to announce that they have recruited Christiana Cannell, 24, from Kirk Michael to coordinate the Island’s first ever Children’s Week, which will be taking place from 17th – 23rd July.
The week long festivities, hopes to remind everyone of the joy that children bring whilst at the same time recognising concerns for their well being and development. Children’s Week will be co-ordinated by The Children’s Centre but it is hoped that individuals, local companies, government departments and other voluntary organisations will support the scheme by organising their own events and activities.
Christiana Cannell said, ‘I really excited about all the possibilities that Children’s Week can bring, and I think it’s great that Isle of Man is leading the way by being the first in the British Isles to host such an event. I just really hope the community get behind us and support Children’s Week by hosting their own events’.
Christiana’s role will last for six months and was funded by the Young Citizen’s Fund. Christiana will be working with children and young people and organisations from all sectors of the community to ensure Children’s Week is the best that it can be.
If you would like to get involved with Children’s Week or would like more information please contact Christiana Cannell at The Children’s Centre on 631918 or email Christiana Cannell.
