The Children’s Centre specialises in providing medium to long term residential care for looked-after children and young people.
Based within five residential homes in communities across the Isle of Man, we look after up to 15 children and young people, providing them with a safe, happy and stable place to live.
We believe that children and young people generally do best when they stay living with their birth families but we understand that this is not always possible. We therefore make every effort to ensure that our young people lives are as stable as possible and where appropriate we encourage and support them to stay in contact with their families, friends and local communities.
We consider that the needs of the Island’s looked-after children and young people should come first. The Children’s Centre aims to ensure positive outcomes by not only caring for children and young people, but truly caring about them. We strive to demonstrate a true commitment to this ethos by working in partnership with Social Services and other organisations.
The Children’s Centre fully supports the IOM Government’s Pledge to Children and Young People in Care, striving to give all children and young people in our care a good start in life and the Freedom to Flourish.
