Leadership in the Community

LinC community group standing in a circle

Our Leadership in the Community (LinC) course is designed to encourage and develop leadership skills with volunteers who want to make a positive contribution to their community. Our next programme will be running from Ramsey.

Anyone aged 16  or over can take part in our LinC course. No special qualifications or previous experience is required; we are simply looking to support people with an enthusiasm for their community and a willingness to learn new skills

The course is delivered from Northern Lights Community Centre in Ramsey over an eight week period beginning Wednesday 2nd May from 6.30 pm - 9.30pm with completion on Wednesday 4th July.

During the programme participants cover:

  • Community development and how to undertake a community audit
  • Planning a project, taking part in a project and reviewing it
  • Leadership skills
  • Communication
  • Volunteering
  • Activity tool bags
  • First aid

At the end of the course LinC participants are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to go out and make a difference in their community.

We will be running an Introduction to LinC evening on Wednesday 18th April from 7pm - 8.30pm at The Northern Lights Community Centre, Bowring Road, Ramsey
