Family Centres

Family Centre parents and child playing Our Family Centres place the needs of all families in the Isle of Man first. Based in Douglas, Ballasalla and Ramsey, our teams provide timely and effective targeted support to children and their families with the aim of enabling parents to raise their children in a way that allows them to achieve their full potential.

We provide safe, stimulating environments where children and parents are encouraged to interact, learn and play together and recieve support and help when they need it; both on an individual and group basis. Crèche facilities are provided by our dedicated team of Early Years Workers to enable parents to access the services we provide.

Helping with ‘on the job training’ and advice, Parent Power provides a range of parenting courses throughout the year in locations across the Island.

Our Family Support Workers are able to offer individual support and advice to all parents. Some parents may be referred to their local Family Centre by: their social worker; health visitor or other professionals; whilst others may be choose to refer themselves.

For those in crisis or in need, we offer more intensive assistance and always have the welfare and protection of vulnerable children as a core value. We can provide contact and parenting assessments for court and child protection proceedings.

The Children’s Centre works in partnership with Social Services by providing this range of supportive services to all families on the Isle of Man, empowering parents to ‘be the best they can be’.
