Action Songs and Rhymes

Specially designed for the parents and carers of babies and toddlers – and for the children themselves of course – Action Songs and Rhymes is a great way to interact with your children, and fellow parents at the same time.Island-wide

With around 6,000 parents, carers, babies and toddlers taking part in Action Songs and Rhymes every year this is proving to be a very popular activity across the Island. The sessions are built around a range of music and movement activities, all helping children to develop their communication and early motor skills. At the same time, the whole approach helps with their social and emotional development – all at a time when these developmental changes are happening more speedily than at any other time.

"Many will go and enjoy the session without recognizing the underlying skills that are being taught and development that is being nurtured but just enjoy the stimulation and fun that it brings" - Mrs Anne Craine, Maughold.

Action songs and Rhymes is aimed at children at any age from just a few weeks up until five years old. It's a great opportunity for parents, grandparents and carers to join in and have fun.

Meeting with others

Action Songs and Rhymes is a wonderful way for parents, grandparents and carers to meet and make friends with each other as well. Looking after children can sometimes be a little lonely, so it's a great opportunity to get out and socialise with others. All the sessions are free, but any donations are always gratefully received.

"The programme is a joyful burst of fun ... I thank the Children's Centre for making this invaluable programme available to us" - Mrs Anne Craine, Maughold.
