Reception Volunteers

Spare time on your hands? Then help us put a smile on someone’s face!

We are looking for Receptionist/Administrator Volunteers to help cover our Reception area. This role is the first point of contact for The Children’s Centre in responding to enquiries internally, and from the general public. The role will involve telephone work, answering emails and basic administration. By dealing with enquiries and queries you will be directly helping to put children, young people and families first.

 Skills/Qualifications:

Good organisational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with sensitive or emotionally charged situations, sound IT skills, good listening and communication skills. Volunteering is conditional upon us completing all recruitment procedures, and receiving a satisfactory DBS check.

 When Required:

This is a flexible role and can be shared with other volunteers. Time expectation is morning Monday to Friday – morning slot 8.00 until 10.00/11.00 or afternoon slot 4.00 till 6.00 p.m. In addition volunteers are required to resource the role during holiday periods and other absence.
