2024 Cycling Challenge

Our 2024 Cycling Challenge will be from Montpellier to Nice via the Southern Alps and taking in Stages 18 & 19 of this year’s Tour de France.

The Route

Approx 7 days, approx. 485 miles with some big climbs:

  • Day 1 Sat 29th June - travel to Montpellier airport by 11am / 60 miles (flat) ride to Avignon.

  • Day 2 Sun 30th June - Avignon to Sisteron (94 miles, Mt Ventoux via Malaucene 9,425ft climbing)

  • Day 3 Mon 1st July - Sisteron to Gap (43m, 3,775ft climbing)
    Day 4 Tue 2nd July - Gap to Barcelonette (Stage 18 TdF 2024) (112m, 10,750ft climbing)

  • Day 5 Weds 3rd July - Barcelonette to Embrun (51m, 3,925ft climbing)

  • Day 6 Thurs 4th July - Embrun to Isola (Stage 19 Tdf 2024) (98m, 14,150ft climbing)

  • Day 7 Fri 5th July - Isola to Nice (51m, 1,725ft climbing))

  • Day 8 Sat 6th July - Transport to Nice airport. Travel back to IOM
