Postive Parenting Programme (Triple P)

WHAT IS TRIPLE P?

Triple P is a parenting program, but it does not tell you how to be a parent. It is more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need. You choose the way you want to use them. It is all about making Triple P work for you. Our team who deliver this course are trained and experienced practitioners who are able to guide you through the theory so it's possible to apply this to your situation.

WHAT DOES TRIPLE P DO?

The three Ps in ‘Triple P’ stand for ‘Positive Parenting Program’ which means by taking part in this program family life can become more enjoyable.

Triple P helps you:

  • Raise happy, confident children

  • Develop skills in dealing with unwanted behaviour

  • Set rules and routines that everyone respects and follows

  • Encourage positive behaviour you like

  • Learn to take care of yourself as a parent

  • Feel confident you’re doing the right thing

DOES IT WORK?

If you are going to invest your time doing a parenting program, you want to be confident that you will get results. The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program has research and evidence to back it up, which shows it works.

The Triple P has been used with thousands of families over more than 35 years and been shown to help families in many different situations and cultures. In fact, Triple P’s evidence base now includes:

  • More than 650 international trials, studies and published papers, including

  • More than 340 evaluation studies, which also includes

  • More than 170 randomised controlled trials

Triple P has been shown to help reduce children’s and teen's unwanted behaviour and also reduce their emotional challenges. The evidence also shows it helps parents feel more confident, less stressed, less angry and less depressed. And that is positive!
