Living Wool Felted Rug Workshop (Adults)

  • The Children's Centre Isle of Man (map)

Join us for a rich, hands-on day creating a living wool felted rug using fleece from our own Teeswater and Loaghtan sheep here at Wallberry Farm — sheep you’ll have the chance to meet before you begin felting their wool.

Led by expert felt maker Annie Eastham, this workshop focuses on wet felting techniques, guiding you through the full process of transforming raw sheep’s wool into a strong, beautiful, and completely one-of-a-kind rug. Each piece reflects the maker’s hands, movement, and energy and of course celebrates the amazing wool from our sheep.

The workshop will take place in our spacious polytunnel, giving plenty of room to spread out, get wet, and make a glorious mess. Felting is a physical and vigorous process, working with much of the session, but don't worry - breaks are included to help you rest and stay energized for each step of the process.

Participants will go home with a finished rug suitable for a medium seat cover or a back support, perfect for a chair, bench, or cozy corner.

A delicious lunch will be provided, and the day will be relaxed, friendly, and supportive with Tea, Coffee and cake flowing throughout.
