Grow Your Own Summer Seeds Workshop (Adults)

  • The Children's Centre Isle of Man (map)

Ready to grow your own delicious summer crops from seed?

Get your garden started and join Annie Eastham, our very own gardening enthusiast, for a relaxed, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to successfully sow and care for seeds at home.

Spend a lovely few hours connecting with nature, learning new skills, and leaving with plenty to grow at home.

In this practical session, we’ll be sowing summer vegetables, flowers, herbs and more, with simple tips you can use even if you’re a complete beginner. We will be working in one of our lovely spacious polytunnels surrounded by all our wonderful seedlings.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to sow seeds for strong, healthy growth

  • Which summer vegetables and flowers grow best from seed for your space

  • Simple aftercare tips for great results

  • How to avoid common seed-growing problems

What’s included:

  • A wide variety of seeds to sow during the workshop, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peas, handy herb hacks

  • Some young plants ready to take home for your garden

  • Pots, compost, and all materials provided

  • Homemade cake and refreshments to enjoy in our garden setting

  • Friendly guidance and time for questions

Perfect for adults who want to grow their own food or flowers, whether you have a garden, balcony, or windowsill.

No experience needed — just come ready to get your hands dirty! (though we will provide gloves!)
